The Business Fundamentals Series continues in 2026 with a single day of mini-panels to showcase the expertise of corporate and nonprofit leaders and the shared topics, strategies, and lessons learned from these diverse backgrounds. This spring’s discussion topics will address Organizational Growth.
Panels will be moderated by Andrew Apfelberg, Esq., Partner, Greenberg Glusker LLP and feature returning guests from the 2025 series: Leah C. Schwartz, Managing Shareholder Parsons Behle & Latimer; Jeff Cohodes, retired chief risk officer of Northern Trust; and Max Ludington, President of Jackson Hole Land Trust. Featured presenters will be joined by additional representatives from local nonprofits who will share experiences and entertain questions and discussion on the following topic areas:
Topic #1 - Organic Growth – organizations grow organically as they receive new funding, strive to meet community need, and enter into partnerships, collaborations, or joint ventures. This discussion will feature industry best practices, case studies, and local expertise for maximizing resources and enabling growth through collaboration and partnership.
Topic #2 — Transactional Growth — organizations grow transactionally through mergers or other external expansion. This discussion will highlight industry best practices, case studies, and local expertise for considering a merger.
Topic #3 - Risk Management and Legal Considerations for Growth (how to avoid falling backward as your organization moves forward) – As organizations grow, so does their exposure to risk. Panelists will advise on minimizing risk, accessing legal guidance, and ensuring that your organization is taking the steps necessary for successful expansion.
