Teton Valley Skijoring
Teton Valley Skijoring is gearing up for the 2026 Grand Showdown, taking place February 21–22, 2026, and we are seeking volunteers to help make this signature winter event possible!
Teton Valley Skijoring is a nonprofit community event, and we rely heavily on volunteer support to operate safely and successfully while keeping ticket prices accessible for the community.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are looking for volunteers across a wide range of roles, including:
- Pre-event setup and post-event takedown
- Parking, entry, merchandise, and beer tent support
- Race operations roles such as start line support and on-course judges who flag missed gates
Volunteer Perks
- Admission to the event all weekend
- A special volunteer swag item (new this year!)
- Hand and toe warmers
- Free beer/alcohol
- A meal voucher for each shift worked (Volunteers serving in full-day race course roles will have meals delivered directly to them at their post)
Sign-Up Links
Special Volunteer Role Needed (Not Listed on Sign-Up Sheets): Horse Water Tank Monitor
- Role overview:
- Monitor and refill the horse water tank that competitors use to fill their own troughs and buckets
- Check water levels intermittently
- Manage freezing/ice to keep water accessible
- Requires a truck and experience towing trailers
- Timing:
- Thursday: Initial fill in the afternoon/evening
- Friday: Morning, midday, and evening checks
- Saturday & Sunday: 8am-6pm; checks every 2 hours
- Monday: Final fill in the morning
- The ideal volunteer can fill this role for the entire weekend, Thursday PM through Monday AM. Would be great for someone who has a secondary vehicle and could leave their truck hooked to the trailer all weekend.
- This is a great role for someone who wants to enjoy watching the races while still providing critical support.
