4-H STEM Corps Instructors
University of Idaho Extension in Teton County (located in Driggs) is seeking to fill two 4-H AmeriCorps Instructor positions to help us with our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) youth programs. We have a 1/2 time and quarter time position. 1/2 time commitment: 900 hours for 8.5 months (January-August 30, 2026) 25-30 hours/week. 1/4 time commitment: 450 hours for 16 weeks (anytime between January-August) 25-30 hours/week.
Both positions offer a living allowance ($12,500 total paid out evening every two weeks for 1/2 time or $6200 for 1/4 time). Earn a $3,697.50 Education award for 1/2 time or $1,956 for 1/4 time).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Host STEAM-based day camps
Help with community events
Promote activities through flyers, social media, or presentations
Recruit and engage with volunteers
Manage office supplies and equipment
Develop and maintain community partnerships
Administrative and reception duties
Submit reports such as time sheets and program evaluations
Other duties as assigned by the supervision
Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
Outgoing and comfortable working with youth, adults, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication skills via phone, email, social media, and web platforms.
Comfortable using computers and technology.
Committed to maintaining professionalism, including appropriate boundaries and appearance.
Willing to attend all site trainings and adapt to changing environments with flexibility and creativity.
Able and willing to facilitate STEAM programming and recruit/train volunteers.
Enjoy engaging with youth in a variety of settings.
