Jackson Hole Youth Grant $60K to Local Nonprofits
The 2026 Youth Philanthropy program has awarded $60,000 in grants to 31 local nonprofits.
Youth Philanthropy provides students at the four Teton County, WY high schools with a hands-on learning experience in philanthropy. Students review grant proposals, discuss their community impact, and make difficult granting decisions to fund nonprofit initiatives.
Local nonprofits submitted grant applications in December, and the Youth Philanthropy committees met throughout the winter to review applications and decide which proposals to support. This year, over 50 students from Jackson Hole High School, Summit Innovations School, Jackson Hole Community School, and Jackson Hole Classical Academy participated in application review. The grant proposals represented a diverse swath of conservation, education, recreation and health and human service programs in Teton County.
“We’re honored to be selected by the Youth Philanthropy panel to support our Dancing Alphabet program, which brings movement, creativity and confidence to every kindergartner in Teton County,” shared Dancers’ Workshop Executive Director Amelia Terrapin. “It’s inspiring to see local teens have the opportunity to engage in philanthropy and thoughtfully decide how to invest in the well-being of our community.”
This year Youth Philanthropy received applications from 33 organizations requesting over $90,000. Thanks to the generosity of Old Bill’s 2025 CoChallengers and individual Youth Philanthropy donors, students were able to support most of the requests with full or partial grants. They approached the review process with great thoughtfulness and collaboration, funding the projects they believe will most benefit Teton County.
Jackson Hole Classical Academy student Noah Ormerod commented, “Youth Philanthropy really showed me how many people and organizations are working hard to support this community. I am new to town, and the program helped me feel more connected to this place in a relatively short amount of time.”
The Community Foundation is pleased to recognize exemplary student leaders in the Youth Philanthropy program. The Future Old Bill Award is given to a student from each school who, in the example of Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill, demonstrates leadership, thoughtfulness, commitment, and a charitable spirit throughout the grant-making process. Each winner received $500 to allocate to the local nonprofit of their choice. The 2026 Future Old Bill Award winners are:
- Jackson Hole Community School – Tia Deslauriers
- Jackson Hole High School – Katie Boillot
- Summit Innovations School – Jaiden Husband
- Jackson Hole Classical Academy – Noah Ormerod
