The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole administers scholarships typically representing a combined annual gift of more than $180,000. Scholarship descriptions are provided for general information; specific application requirements can be found within each application. 3 Creek Ranch Golf Club Scholarship

The 3 Creek Ranch Scholarship awards scholarships to students graduating from a Teton County, Wyoming high school with demonstrated community involvement, a minimum GPA of 3.0 and financial need. Involvement in sports is not necessary. This is a one-year award, and multiple scholarships of up to $2,500 may be given each year.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Please include an essay that addresses the following question in not less than 250 or more than 300 words. What do you feel the biggest challenge will be during your continuing education and how do you plan to address it?
  2. Two letters of recommendation are also required.

3 Creek Ranch Golf Club Employee Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to advance the academic success of local students who have been closely involved with 3 Creek Ranch Golf Club. Eligible applicants must be in the current graduating class of a Teton County high school; reside in Teton County or Lincoln County, Wyoming or Teton County Idaho; possess a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average; and have worked at least one summer at 3 Creek Ranch for a minimum of 250 hours or be a child of a full-time employee at 3 Creek Ranch. Up to $10,000 over four years will be awarded. Multiple scholarships may be given.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Please include an essay that addresses the following question in not less than 250 or more than 300 words. What do you feel the biggest challenge will be during your continuing education and how do you plan to address it?
  2. Please provide documentation of your employment at 3 Creek Ranch, including year, job and supervisor, or not parent’s name and employment position.
  3. Two letters of recommendation are also required.

Archie and Lois (Kemper) Jurich Scholarship

The Archie and Lois (Kemper) Jurich Scholarship awards a scholarship to students graduating from a Teton County, Wyoming high school. Scholarships are awarded to students with family lineage in Teton County, Wyoming dating to 1950 or earlier, with preference given to children with financial need. Up to $7,500 will be awarded. Scholarship amount and duration may vary. Multiple scholarships may be awarded.

Billy Frank Memorial Scholarship

The Billy Frank Memorial Scholarship has been established by The Frank Family to honor the memory of Billy Frank. One or two scholarships will be awarded annually to students graduating from a Teton County, Wyoming high school who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and leadership.

The scholarship(s) are intended to help defer the costs of higher education at the undergraduate level to those students who specifically would like to attend an out-of-state college or university. Scholastic ability, future goals and a personal essay in response to Billy’s “credo” and the questions below are the main criteria used to select recipients. Up to two $1,125 payments or one $2,250 one-time payment will be awarded. Acceptance to an out-of-state school required.

Additional requirements: Applicants will provide an essay of up to 500 words on the following statement and questions.

Buffalo Valley Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible by anonymous donors and given to students who reside in Buffalo Valley (83013 zip code). Applicants must be well-rounded, planning to attend a two or four year college, demonstrate financial need and show a history of public service, community spirit and capable academic performance. One scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded over four years.

Charles Reid Schouboe Memorial Scholarship

The Charles Reid Schouboe Memorial Scholarship recognizes students who embody the spirit, character and leadership qualities of Reid Schouboe. The recipient of this scholarship must be a graduating senior from either Teton or Sublette County, Wyoming. Scholarships are intended as a commitment to support four years of education to students (the amount to be determined by the fund balance.)Leadership potential, career goals and personal statements are the main criteria used to select recipients. Special consideration will be given to students who share some of Reid’s interests including his love of snowmobiling, snowboarding, dirt biking, roping, rodeo, cowboying, and hunting as well as a general love for our unique community. One scholarship over four years will be awarded.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Please include an essay of approximately 600 words that addresses the following question: Describe yourself, your special interests, an explanation of your goals for the future and your desire for further education as well as why this scholarship is important to you.
  2. Three letters of recommendation from teachers, employers or community members who know you and your character.

EAA Young Eagles Flight Scholarship

The EAA Young Eagles Flight Scholarship was created by a group of individuals who wanted to give students the chance to learn how to fly. This scholarship covers the full cost of instruction and materials for two students to obtain their private pilot’s license, a value of approximately $8,500 each. Applicants must be 16 years of age by May 1st of the year in which they apply and must demonstrate good academic standing, community service/involvement, financial need and a commitment to becoming a pilot. Applicants must be generally able to devote themselves to training full-time, at least 4 days a week.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Please include your employment history (including dates).
  2. Include a personal statement highlighting your reasons for applying for this scholarship and why you believe you are the best candidate.
  3. Include a brief essay as to why you want to be a pilot.
  4. Applicants must also include two letters of recommendation.

Erin’s Fund

This memorial award is given in memory of JHHS graduate, Erin Goodman. This scholarship is awarded to a Teton County, Wyoming graduating senior based upon nomination from a teacher or counselor. Preference is given to students who meet the following selection criteria: motivated individual, working to the best of his/her ability; demonstrated achievement/improvement during high school, especially in the face of challenging circumstances; and financial need and lack of other support such as family. The amount for this scholarship is up to $4,000 over four years.

 Jackson Hole Fine Arts Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student or students pursuing an education in the performing arts (instrumental music, vocal performances, drama or dance). Scholarship recipients will be selected through an audition process. The amount for this scholarship is up to $4,000 over four years.

Additional Requirements:

  1. A list of three teachers with whom you have studied.
  2. A listing of music camps or workshops you have attended.
  3. Mandatory audition.

Katie Tapp Memorial Scholarship

The Katie Tapp Memorial Scholarship Fund awards a scholarship annually to a student graduating from a Teton County, Wyoming high school. Scholarships are awarded to students entering the fields of mathematics, science and/or engineering. Scholastic ability, academic potential, career goals and personal statements are the main criteria used to select recipients. Financial need will also be considered. The scholarship must be used in the academic year immediately following high school graduation. The award amount for this scholarship is $8,000 over four years.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Please list any awards or honors you have received and your intended field of study.
  2. Two letters of recommendation (at least one from a faculty advisor or instructor) are required.
  3. A HAND WRITTEN (with pen and paper) essay of approximately 500 words describing yourself, your special interests, your educational and career goals ans why you have chosen these goals. The handwritten essay should be scanned and submitted in pdf format.

Levi Dowell Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Levi Dowell. Its intent is to recognize a student who possesses a spirit and interests similar to Levi’s. The student must be a graduating senior from a high school in Teton County, Wyoming. This nonrenewable award is for freshman year of college only. Criteria for this scholarship include academic merit and financial need. Special consideration will be given to students who share some of Levi’s interests including the outdoors, camping, snowboarding, travel, music and the Spanish language. The scholarship award amount is $500. This award is for freshman year of college only; nonrenewable.

Maysie Reach Memorial Scholarship

This memorial award is given by the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce in memory of JHHS graduate, Maysie Reach. This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing business administration majors, who have taken part in some extra curricular activities while in high school and who demonstrate financial need. Students must be attending a Wyoming University, College or Technical School. This scholarship amount is a one time award of $1,000, freshman year.

 Ted Jonke Memorial Soccer Scholarship

One scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is a member of the soccer team and will be pursuing an undergraduate degree. This award is based on academic performance, community service, and participation in and passion for the sport of soccer. This scholarship award amount is up to $6,000 over four years.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Please include a one page (no more than 300 words) essay on the following: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
  2. One letter of recommendation is also required.

Teton Pines Country Club Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to advance the academic success of local students who have been closely involved with Teton Pines Country Club. Eligible applicants must be in the current graduating class of a Teton County high school; reside in Teton County or Lincoln County, Wyoming or Teton County Idaho; possess a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average; and have worked at least one summer at Teton Pines Country Club, or worked as a caddy for a minimum of 22 rounds in any golf season, or be a child of a full-time employee at Teton Pines Country Club. Scholarships are awarded yearly and are renewable for multiple years (up to $10,000 maximum per-student award). Graduate study scholarships are also available.

Archie Jurich Scholarship and Joseph & Kristina Jurich Family Memorial Scholarship

The Jurich Family Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors from Rock Springs High School, with preference given to children of multi-generational families from the Rock Springs community (dating to the 1930’s or earlier), who have been in the school district from kindergarten and are planning to attend the University of Wyoming. The scholarship award amount for each is $2,000 (either two $1,000 one-time scholarships or one $2,000 two-year scholarship).

Tarkio High School, Missouri

Adolph & Hulda Kemper Family Memorial Scholarship and Lois Kemper Jurich Memorial Scholarship

These scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors from Tarkio High School, with preference given to children of multi-generational families from the Tarkio community, who have been in the Tarkio school district from kindergarten and are planning to attend North West Missouri State University. The scholarship award amount for each is $2000 (either two $1,000 one-time scholarships or one $2,000 two-year scholarship).

The Blake Chapman Flight Scholarship was created by a group of individuals who wanted to give students in Teton County, Idaho the chance to learn how to fly. This scholarship covers the full cost of instruction and materials for two students to obtain their private pilot’s license, a value of approximately $8,500 each. Applicants must be 16 years of age by May 1st of the year in which they apply and must demonstrate good academic standing, community service/involvement, financial need, and a commitment to becoming a pilot.
