Be a part of the creation of a custom sculpture at Center for the Arts!
Volunteers needed in August to assist with creating a new sculpture on the Center Campus
Patrick Dougherty, an internationally-renowned sculptor, is coming to Center for the Arts as a visiting artist August 8-26. During his residency, Patrick will construct a unique, site-specific sculpture in the Center Park with the help of many local volunteers.
Volunteers will be assisting Patrick in harvesting sapling branches, stripping them of leaves, and in the construction of the sculpture. Each day there are four slots available for either the morning shift or afternoon shift. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for as many shifts as possible or the same shift every week until the completion of the project. We recommend that all volunteers wear closed-toe shoes and cool breathable layers including long sleeves and pants to avoid being scratched or injured while harvesting and construction. Gloves, tools, water, and snacks will be provided daily.
This opportunity is also available to organizations or businesses who may want to sign-up as a team to support as part of a staff outing.
Volunteer slots are 4 hours each, a morning and afternoon shift each day for the month of August.
