Countdown Week
2021 Schedule of Events
In the spirit of Old Bill’s, the Community Foundation and participating nonprofits will be hosting a variety of events around town including Countdown Week (September 7-10) and the Old Bill’s Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, September 11.
During Countdown Week, nonprofits will host pop-up celebrations to highlight their individual missions and service areas at various locations around town.
Tuesday, September 7 – Conservation & Environment + Animals
Wednesday, September 8 – Education + Civic
Thursday, September 9 – Sports & Recreation + Arts & Culture
Friday, September 10 – Health & Human Services
Pop-Up Events
Some participating nonprofits will host pop-up events during Countdown Week. Participation in Countdown Week is optional. All events are subject to change.
Throughout Countdown Week, Old Bill’s Run Committee volunteers and Community Foundation staff will be spreading cheer with the Frozen Treat Bike, on loan from St. John’s Episcopal Church, sharing free frozen treats with community members at various locations around town.

Teton Raptor Center | Tuesday, September 7 • During AM + PM Commute | Teton Raptor Center - Hwy 22 | Teton Raptor Center volunteers, board members, staff, friends, and family will gather at Teton Raptor Center along Highway 22 in Wilson to show their support for the birds by dressing up in raptor inspired costumes along with Old Bill's 25th Anniversary gear. |
Astoria Park Conservancy | Tuesday, September 7 • All Day | Astoria Hot Springs | Staff will plan to wear OBFR swag on our countdown day and we'll set up a table at the hot springs to spread the word about Old Bill's, Astoria Park Conservancy, and have some really fun trivia and raffle prizes! |
Snake River Fund | Tuesday, September 7 • All Day | Wilson & South Park Boat Ramps | Snake River Fund will be at Wilson and South Park Boat Ramps during countdown week. SRF will have a tent up and be on-site as time allows. |
Northern Rockies Conservation Cooperative | Tuesday, September 7 • All Day | NRCC Office (185 Center St) | NRCC will have a table with our banner and swag in front of our office. |
Jackson-Teton County Animal Shelter | Tuesday, September 7 • 12-1pm | Town Square | Staff will park the Animal Shelter truck at Town Hall, walk the town square with a couple dogs, and hand out Animal Shelter stickers. |
Jackson Hole Land Trust | Tuesday, September 7 • 12-1PM | Locations vary. | JHLT Staff and Board will be present at key JHLT public access sites visiting with community members and sharing JHLT swag. Sites include R Park, the Genevieve Block, Emily's Pond and the Josie's Ridge trailhead. |
Teton County Library Foundation & Friends | Wednesday, September 8 • 8:15-8:45am | Teton County Library (Snow King Ave and Virginian Lane) | Rush Hour Rally with library staff, costumes, and signs on the corner of Snow King Ave and Virginian Lane. |
Wyoming Stargazing | Wednesday, September 8 | Wyoming Stargazing (1135 Maple Way Unit 1) | Staff will have some solar telescopes and corn hole boards out in front of our office. |
Old Wilson School House Community Center | Wednesday, September 8 • 12-12:45pm | Fish Creek Center (in front of Pearl Street Bagels in Wilson) | Lunchtime roadside rally on the Fish Creek Center front lawn. |
Jackson Hole Classical Academy | Wednesday, September • 8 AM | Jackson Hole Classical Academy (2500 S Park Loop Rd) | Hosting a Bike-to-School Day on Wednesday, September 8. Students will wear their JHCA t-shirts and parents will be greeted at drop-off with pastries and coffee. |
Dancers' Workshop | Thursday, September 9 • 4pm | Town Square | A parade of DW students on the Town Square. There will music, puppets, dancers in tutus and tons of excitement. |
Carving The Future | Thursday, September 9 • 5-8PM | Hoff's Bikesmith (265 W Broadway) | After-school Skate Competition (5-7pm) and Open Skate. (7-8pm). Free pizza by InSeason and Pinky G's. All ages welcome. |
One 22 Resource Center | Friday, September 10 • All day | Jackson Cupboard (245 N Glenwood) | Celebration on the porch of Jackson Cupboard during the day on Friday, September 10. |
Children's Grand Adventure | Friday, September 10 • 8-11am | Fish Creek Center (in front of Pearl Street Bagels in Wilson) | We will be in the parking lot of our office at Fish Creek Center in Wilson serving coffee, bagels, snacks, pastries, etc, as well as giving away merchandise, and have a raffle drawing on the first half of the day on September 10. |
Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding | Friday, September 10 • 9am-1pm | Town Square | The Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding team will be in Town Square on Friday, September 10 in horse costumes and JHTR apparel with music and signs to have those driving by honk to show support of Old Bill's and JHTR. |
Fire / EMS | Friday, September 10 12-1pm | Fire Admin Building (40 East Pearl Street) | Serving the public and responding to emergencies as well as a public Meet & Greet outside of the Fire / EMS Admin building on Pearl Street. |
Hole Food Rescue | Friday, September 10 • 11:30am - 1pm | Senior Center of Jackson Hole (830 E Hansen Ave) | HFR Bananas at the Senior Center during the No Cost Grocery Program. |
