Communications & Marketing Officer
Scarlata has more than 13 years of experience in nonprofits, communications and development and also taught at the university level for a decade. She began work in nonprofits managing arts, writing and enrichment programs for Latino youth in Santa Fe and on the west side of Denver. Other work experience includes consulting and writing for the private sector including as a speechwriter for MasterCard executives and as an editor of a financial website. Scarlata holds degrees from Colorado College and Brown University as well as a PhD from the University of Denver.
A native of Pittsburgh, Susan has lived among the skyscrapers of Hong Kong, the fog of San Francisco, and throughout both Colorado and Wyoming. She first headed west to attend Colorado College, and spent time in Jackson for a number of seasons before fully making it home. Susan has enjoyed working for a number of nonprofits in town including the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Jackson Hole Community School, among others. She currently serves on the board of the Teton County Library. Scarlata is a published writer and Editor of Lost Roads Press, an independent literary publishing house. She enjoys backpacking, skiing and doing yoga.
