Communications & Marketing Officer
Scarlata holds a Masters from Brown University, a PhD from the University of Denver, and taught at the university level for nearly a decade. She also has over 10 years of experience in nonprofits, communications and development. She began work in nonprofits managing arts, writing and enrichment programs for underserved Latino youth in Denver. Other work experience includes writing for the private sector including as a speechwriter for MasterCard executives and as an editor of a financial website.
A native of Pittsburgh, Susan Scarlata has lived among the skyscrapers of Hong Kong, the fog of San Francisco, and throughout both Colorado and Wyoming. She first headed west to attend Colorado College, and is thrilled to call Jackson home. Susan has enjoyed working for a number of nonprofits in town including the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Jackson Hole Community School, among others. She is a published writer and Executive Editor of Lost Roads Press, an independent literary press. She enjoys skiing, backpacking, writing and doing yoga.
