Friends of Pathways
Teton Pass Ambassador
$10,000
The Teton Pass Winter Ambassador Program was created to address increased user conflicts on Teton Pass and to provide information to winter visitors to promote safety, cooperation, respect, and responsibility. The program is a partnership with Friends of Pathways, the Forest Service and the Wyoming Department of Transportation. A Community Foundation grant will help maintain this important position on Teton Pass this winter.

Jackson Hole Youth Soccer
Player Scholarships/Financial Assistance
$10,000
Playing soccer gives kids confidence, teaches them how to deal with adversity, win gracefully and to keep perspective when they lose. Because the cost is high, many players apply for scholarships. Those seeking scholarships are required to complete an application, submit a recent report card, a letter describing the ways the family participates in and helps our community, and proof of financial need. Community Foundation funding will help ensure that all children can play soccer, regardless of their ability to pay.

Teton Freedom Riders (TFR)
Trail Maintenance Crew Pilot Project
$8,316
Since its inception, Teton Freedom Riders has been the sole organization managing the free-ride mountain bike trails on Teton Pass. Before they assumed this role, illegal trail building and user conflicts were major problems. TFR must maintain these trails under United States Forest Service standards, and recent increases in both local and visitor use have caused more wear on Teton Pass trails than volunteer crews can address. Grant funds will employ a seasonal crew for one full season of fundamental trail maintenance, including windfall clearing, corridor brushing for sight distance maximization, and drainage and structure management.
