David and Lisa Carlin

CarlinVast open spaces, striking natural beauty, wildlife and a western culture combine to make Jackson Hole truly unique. We want to preserve the extraordinary aspects of our valley. While we care about many causes from education to health care to the arts, and support all non-profits with one broad stroke as Co-Challengers to Old Bills Fun Run, environmental conversation is a special focus.

As donors, board members and volunteers, we feel our participation in, and enhancement of, the community planning process is an effective contribution. We believe the collaboration of non-profits, government bodies and an engaged public is the best way to balance a diversity of needs.

This process is working. We are not “Everytown USA” with strip malls like many other communities that were once pristine western ski towns. Our clustered development provides scenic open space and wildlife corridors, and our strong local business community maintains the frontier character. There will be many opportunities in the future to continue with these successes. We are far from finished.

The Community Foundation is a partner in our efforts to preserve Jackson Hole. The variety of fund options and long-term philanthropic planning resources are assets to donors, whatever their passions. The Foundation's ability to convene organizations in the spirit of collaboration will help us balance thoughtful conservation with healthy growth and an expanding economy.
