Since 1989, the Community Foundation has excelled in the business of philanthropy. Our funds are not the result of a single person’s or corporation’s giving; they represent hundreds of people and organizations – some small, others large -- who care about Jackson Hole and the world. Grants from these funds are busy feeding the hungry, caring for the sick and elderly, protecting wildlife, fighting to keep kids off drugs, counseling the depressed and abused, building affordable homes and enriching all our lives through the arts and humanities.
Donors rely on the Community Foundation’s experienced staff to facilitate their giving with insight on community needs, prudent due diligence and simplified administration. Pooled investment management by professional advisers and constant board oversight give fundholders peace of mind and enhance the impact of their funds. As a steward of endowment funds, the Foundation makes it possible for donors to benefit the organizations and causes that they care about in perpetuity.
The Community Foundation also provides critical assistance to local nonprofits. We offer technical assistance and sponsor workshops on sustainability, board development and grant writing. By stimulating dialogue on current and emerging issues, we help to identify the resources needed to address them. Our annual event, Old Bill’s Fun Run for Charities, has enabled local nonprofits to raise over $53 million in the past 11 years, while we award competitive funding to impact critical needs based on the advice of a diverse group of community volunteers.
The whole of our community is greater than the sum of its parts, and our commitment to each other is as awe inspiring as our scenery. Because our future depends upon the profound generosity of donors as well as the tireless efforts of those working in the nonprofit trenches, we strengthen these partnerships every day.
The Community Foundation – Old Bill's and so much more.
